Chapel Valley artist Abby Paskvan to present national anthem at Republican National Convention

Abby Paskvan, Chapel Valley artist, will present the United States national anthem, “The Star- Spangled Banner” at the Republican National Convention tonight in Cleveland, Ohio.

Paskvan will kick off the third night of the convention, which will host thousands of visitors and welcome Mike Pence, vice presidential nominee, in “The Q” arena.

“The Star-Spangled Banner” is more than familiar to Paskvan, as she has opened for multiple Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians games in the past. She was contacted by convention representatives to perform and jumped at the opportunity to expand her ministry’s reach.

“This is a very exciting thing for me,” Paskvan says. “I’ve never sang the anthem on such a large scale, so this is a great opportunity to be able to reach so many people. My hope is that when I’m on stage tonight my name will get out there and it will lead someone to hear God’s message through my music.”

The Republican National Convention will be televised on all major networks. The national anthem will be presented at 7:45, and the convention begins at 8.
