The Scotts
In 1952, The Scotts were formed in the living room of their home by their mother, the late Bernice G. Scott. For years, The Scotts only performed at their home church, Scotts Revival Center, in Franklin, Virginia, founded by their father, the late Bishop Clinton L. Scott. After being a regional group in their local area for years, in 1988 The Scotts signed with Gloryland Records, owned and operated by Tim Greene of The Greenes, and released their first national song, ''Praise Your Name''. The Scotts would go on to be one of the biggest groups in Southern Gospel throughout the 90's, also becoming the first Black family group in Southern Gospel music. The Scotts were the first Gospel group to perform in the country of Poland in 1995 during Christian Culture Week. After a 10 year hiatus in 2010, The Scotts returned to the road by the grace of God, bigger and stronger than ever! In 2013, The Scotts won the AMG Heritage Award as Retro Artist of the Year! Since The Scotts' return, they have been honored with several AMG and Fan Award nominations. At this point of their career,
The Scotts are blessed to have had 16 Top 100 Chart songs, with two of them being Top 10 songs. The most important goal for this talented group of singers is that God gets the glory out of everything they do, and that people are blessed, healed, set free and delivered by the messages God has given them through their music. We are so excited by the news of the nominations for The Fan Awards! The Scotts are nominated for Southern Gospel Group of the Year! The Scotts band is nominated for favorite band! Jerry Scott is nominated for favorite male vocalist! Terry Scott is nominated for favorite musician! We thank God just to be nominated.
