Awards will be given in 31 categories, voted solely by Gospel music fans in a two-ballot process in recent months. Serving as Presenter during the awards ceremony is Christine Scott, head of Christian Voice Magazine’s graphic design department. Co-hosting the event together is CVM’s Executive Director of Advertising, Margie Tanner and Executive Editor, John Lanier.
John is also a veteran Christian recording artist, but due to health issues in recent years, he has been unable to travel and sing. As co-host of the Gospel Music Fan Awards, this will be his first public appearance in nearly four years. He shares, “My voice is still recovering from a surgical procedure, and I’m still healing from some other surgeries, so I was a bit surprised to be asked to do this. But, as I’ve been saying to my friends on social media lately, ‘God is up to something!’ That said, you better believe I’m going to be there as a testimony of God’s power and grace! I’m really looking forward to seeing so many friends and lifting up the name of Jesus together! It’s going to be awesome!”
This year, the Gospel Music Fan Awards will be held at the Fayette Civic Center in the beautiful, historic town of Fayette, Alabama, beginning with a pre-show at 6pm. Some of the artists slated to perform during the awards ceremony include Tommy Smith, Ava Kasich, Wings of Love, Leon Everette, Comedian Barry McGee, and The Cupps. The house band during the awards program is once again under the direction of award-winning pianist, Keith Barkley.
