Six years ago today, on April 20, 2020, Jim Sheldon’s beloved mother, Kay Lilley Sheldon (September 21, 1931 – April 20, 2020), went home to be with Jesus.
The song “As Long As You Remember” was written from the heart of that journey. Jim walked alongside his mom through the challenging years of Alzheimer’s and dementia, pouring his love for her into every line. Co-written with Barry Lee White, the song serves as a tender dedication to every family that has faced the difficult road of Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Chandler Baucom of Baucom Media captured the deep emotion and meaning behind the song in a moving video.
To every caregiver still in the fight and every family missing their loved one, Jim wants you to know: you are not alone. There is hope, there is grace, and one day… you will see them again.
‘Mom, I will see you again” – Jim Sheldon
